The HFHH 2011 Wrap Up
2011 will be coming to an end in just a few short hours, so it’s about time we give y’all our take on this great year of Hip Hop. A lot of sites like to give you a top 25 list, or try to rank the best projects of the year, but over here you know we are all about giving you our HONEST opinions..like it or not. We could’ve sat here and tried to rank the best albums/mixtapes and labeled one as THE BEST of the year, but truth be told we would just be lying. We’re not going to compile some fake hipster list to appear to be some overly knowledgeable music nerds, that’s just not how we do things. We’re going to simply give you guys our HONEST opinion on what we enjoyed the most this year. Whether it was well received or not makes no difference here. These are OUR opinions of the music that was the most important to us in 2011. There are a slew of great projects that did not make our lists, so just because a certain album or mixtape wasn’t listed, does not mean we didn’t like it. Now that we got that out of the way, lets get this show on the road.
Continue reading below for our top albums & mixtapes of 2011.

Let it be known that these ARE NOT in any particular order, so don’t even bother getting worked up over that. There were A LOT of great albums released this year, more than any year in recent memory in our opinion. With that said, narrowing it down to 15 was pretty rough to say the least. When it comes down to the both of us, we don’t really have a particular “style” of Hip Hop that we stick to. We like the lyrical stuff, we like party music, we can vibe with the “stoner” music at times, and of course we love us a little bit of that ignorant audio. So there you have it, OUR top 15 albums for 2011. Whether you like the list, or think it’s the worst one you’ve seen thus far, just respect our honesty.
Mixtapes:
Big K.R.I.T. – ReturnOf4Eva
Frank Ocean – nostalgia, ULTRA
A$AP Rocky – Live.Love.A$AP
Nipsey Hussle – The Marathon Continues
Meek Mill – Dream Chasers
The Weeknd – Echoes Of Silence
Cyhi The Prince – Royal Flush 2
Fabolous – There Is No Competition 3: Death Comes In 3′s
Young Jeezy – The Real Is Back 2
Curren$y – Covert Coup
Juicy J – Rubba Band Business 2
The-Dream – 1977
The Weeknd – House Of Baloons
Dee-1 – I Hope They Hear Me Vol. 2
Elzhi – Elmatic
Now onto the mixtapes, which was a MUCH harder list to for us to make. We saw more mixtape releases this year than ever in history. Narrowing this down to 15 took many hours of deliberation, but in the end we feel like we gave you OUR solid top 15 that we kept in rotation the most. Once again this is in no particular order, just a group of 15 dope mixtapes that we liked the most in 2011. As you can see once again, it’s a very diverse list. There are so many tapes that are honorable mentions that we’re not even going to get into that. We fucked with a lot more mixtapes than this in 2011, but in the end you can only list so many.
So there you have it, the official HFHH year end wrap up. Whether you agree with us, or think we have terrible taste in music, it’s all good. Just respect us for speaking our mind, and not trying to appeal to what others want to hear. If you strongly disagree with our list and feel the need to tell us it sucks, you can always hit us up on our twitters listed below. Most importantly, thank all of you for rocking with us in 2011, and expect nothing but the best from us in 2012.
